Attention Ski Patrollers who Patrol in Pennsylvania!

After years of hard work by Ski Patrol Volunteers, Eastern PA and Western Appalachian Regions have achieved one of their goals:  the recognition by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of the "Ski Patroller" to be a member of the EMS community.  Do NOT Call your Regional EMS Council or the State DOH!  The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has agreed to include Pennsylvania ski patrollers into the EMS system.  This will be a no hassle, totally OPTIONAL agreement between INDIVIDUAL patrollers and the Commonwealth.  The benefits of becoming a certified EMS provider are extremely valuable and provide MANY protections and STRATEGIC BENEFITS to the individual patroller not offered by other 'groups' and 'associations'.  For more information, click here!

National Ski Patrol News- IMPORTANT

The National Ski Patrol Board of Directors adopted Votenet (votenet.com), a new electronic voting system, at its annual  meeting in June. This eBallot voting system will improve the efficiency and security of the voting process.  Here are a list of changes NSP members should be aware of:

* There will be no mail ballot.

* Each patroller must find access to a computer and the Internet in order to log-in to the NSP's dedicated voting website.

* Once logged-on, members will be given a voting ID number and a password which they will need to cast their vote.

* NSP members without a home computer are encouraged to utilize the computers of other members or as provided by their public library.

* Members are also encouraged to contact the National office as soon as possible if they have a new email address or wish to change an existing address.

* If you have not yet created an account with NSP, please click here.  Then click on "Activate Your Account."  If you need help, please click "Contacts" on the left side of the NSP page.  A new page opens, and you should click on "Contact Us."

On 1/27/2007, the Belle Mountain Ski Patrol had a reunion at Howell Farm.  Those who attended learned about the history of skiing in New Jersey.  Anyone interested in buying Elizabeth Holste's book, Skiing in New Jersey, should contact Elizabeth.
