The Delaware Valley Ski Patrol (DVSP) was first established as the Belle Mountain Alpine Ski Patrol in 1965.  Organized through the National Ski Patrol (NSP), Belle Mountain Patrollers conducted first aid training (WEC & OEC) and Alpine Ski patrolling until Belle Mountain's closing in 1998. Click here for more information on Belle Mountain.  The Belle Mountain Ski Patrol changed its name to the Delaware Valley Ski Patrol, adapting to new areas patrolled as Nordic Ski Patrollers.  This new mission allowed the many Ski Patrollers in southern and central New Jersey to maintain their patrolling credentials locally.

DVSP currently conducts the
Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) Course in Lambertville, New Jersey, every fall.  The OEC course is the primary credential to becoming a National Ski Patroller and a First Responder in the Emergency Medical System.  Graduates of the DVSP OEC course may train to become Alpine or Nordic Patrollers, skiing or riding at the local Cross Country or Alpine ski areas.  Bike patrolling in the warmer months keeps first aid skills current through all seasons.
